A Story Worth The Telling
It was a few years ago that I was sitting in the ILC at Boise State University. A young man with blonde hair, glasses, and Down's Syndrome was busily cleaning tables on his first day of work. I was also busy trying to cram for an Anatomy and Physiology quiz/mini-test, when I heard a joyful, "Mom!". I looked up and saw the same young man run over to his mother and throw his arms around her. She had come to have lunch with her son on his first day of work and he was beyond excited. As he told her of his day, you could tell she was so proud of him and his little face beamed with pride. I felt like I was intruding, but I couldn't help watch the sweet exchange. It still warms my heart and I tear up a little whenever I think about it :}
