Let Us Rephrase

I can't tell you just how much I hate the phrase "natural vs. unnatural" birth.  Come on folks, an "unnatural" birth would mean a baby coming out of your butt!  Like this lovely SNL skit

Seriously though can we stop making each other feel bad for however their child came into the world?  Labor, delivery, and everything after is hard enough without being told they're doing it wrong (if you're abusing or neglecting your child, then ya, you're doing it wrong).  Anywhozzle, read this article.  Then read it again.  Share it with all your lady friends and then hold your head high.  Your body created a WHOLE ENTIRELY NEW PERSON and don't be ashamed of how it happened.  So let us rephrase and start using the terms "medically assisted" or "medically unassisted".  Or why even categorize at all?  Just say you had a baby, the end.

Snakes, Why Did It Have To Be Snakes

When we were visiting my husband's parents during 4th of July I went down into their basement where we had set up camp to get ready for bed.  I was being a good girl and flossing my teeth when I felt the need to turn around.  It's a good thing I did because I came face to face with a ferocious beast!  It was by my standards a decently sized snake hanging out on the rug just watching me do my nightly routine.  I screamed bloody murder and ran up the stairs to have AJ get it while I rocked back and forth on the couch for awhile.  A few weeks later I came across this gem and it sums up how I feel.

The Joys and Pains of Getting Emotionally Invested in Fictional Characters

I LOOOVE to read, but sometimes it is a few months between books because I need a break from being so emotionally invested in the characters and their lives.  Especially if there is romance involved.  Oh mylanta!  If the two main characters are in love and can't be together for whatever reason, and I think they should be...UGH!  It's like my brain digs in it's claws to the book and won't let go.  For example... last September while perusing the newest editions to the library I found a book called The Innocent by Posie Graeme-Evans.  What started out at an amused curiosity turned into a feverish reading frenzy.  AJ was out of town for a week long field trip (Who has field trips in college?  People who study plants and dirt, that's who) so I was using every moment to plunge into the world of castles, courtiers, and court intrigue.  Then it got to the point where either everything starts on the path to ending well or just making me cry.  When I got to this point in The Innocent I realized there was not enough of the book left for it to end ok.  I tell you I just about put the book down right then, but my silly heart said, "Keep reading something wonderful could happen!"  It didn't.  I was so upset and hormonal from being pregnant that I cried.  I cried and cried, threw that book into the library return with much anger, then ate an entire box of Swiss Miss Rolls (no judge zone here).  For days after I would think about Anne and Edward and lament at their loss of each other.  Fast forward about two months to where I find out this book is part one of THREE books!  Hallelujah!  I made haste and ordered the other two books...and they still didn't end up together!  No no no no no no!  Not ok!
The same goes for movies or tv.  When we were watching the first season of "Once Upon A Time" I was so upset about Snow White and Prince Charming not knowing who they were and not being able to be together.  They had true love for crying out loud!  When they finally got their memories back my heart soared and all was well with the world again.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this.

Need to find another Nemo

It happened AGAIN!  My Nemo antenna ball has been snatched from atop it's perch and I am a little upset.  The first time this happened I was parked in the Boise LDS Institute parking lot and whoever stole it I hope Jesus got them for stealing on His turf.  This time it was stolen in a Seattle, WA public parking lot.  For all I know it was taken by a homeless person who is part of a gang who is part of a Disney black market.  Or got eaten by some guy high on bath salts.  Wherever you are Nemo, I hope your journey is a great one.

Please Miley, you really do need to stop

This morning was all a buzz of Miley Cyrus' "performance" at the VMAs last night so I indulged and watched the video of it...oh Miley.  Ladies like Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn are rolling in their graves as we speak.  We get it, you're not a little girl anymore.  You have boobs now and wear makeup.  However, I don't remember the requirement for letting everyone know you are an adult being showing off your bod and being overtly sexual.  You want to prove you're an adult?  Pay your own rent or go to college, don't grab your crotch and have excessive tongue on National TV.  And I'm pretty sure this guy
Is looking for a new girlfriend as we speak.  Or at least his mother is.  I am not saying we should be shaming Miley for exploring her sexuality, but please have some class while doing so.  Young girls may be looking up to you and your display last night is not something the future women of this nation should be aspiring to.  If I have a daughter I hope she wants to be hardworking like J.K Rowling, funny like Tina Fey, and ambitious like Amy Poehler's fictional character Leslie Knope.  We need more class and less ass.  So please Miley, you really do need to stop.

The Best

I never thought I would love being a mom as much as I do.  Out of all the jobs/roles I have had before, being my little boy's mommy is by far my favorite.  It is hard, it is tiring, it is frustrating, it is terrifying, and I wouldn't trade any of it.  When he was born I felt like the Grinch when his heart grew  3 sizes, and every time the babe smiles at me I feel like that all over again. Don't let anyone tell you it's not worth it or that you are "just" a mom.  You are your children's whole world and that is amazing.

Can't wait to see these faces on screen

If you live under a rock and do not know who Chris Hemsworth is, stop reading this and go educate yourself.  As in right now. He is one of the hottest men brought to us from the magical land down under and American women were never the same after watching "Thor" two summers ago.  I am counting down the time until "Thor 2" comes to theater in November. Get ready to swoon all over again.

Speaking of swooning, how pumped are you that Juan Pablo is the next Bachelor???  I'm going to watch it so hard!  I know the drama with all the ladies trying to fight over/win the heart of the Latin lover is going to be a complete trainwreck, but I will be there Monday nights with the ladies watching/cringing.

Let us hope he leaves this outfit at home...

Chains and douchey hat?  Come on Juan Pablo you can do better.
